4.3 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Sahibganj In Jharkhand On Friday.

Earthquake tremors were felt in Sahibganj in Jharkhand on Friday afternoon. According to the National Centre of Sysmology, the earthquake occurred at 12:07 pm. The magnitude of the earthquake was 4.3 on the Richter scale. There have been no reports so far of any damage suffered due to the earthquake.

Light tremors have been felt in central and eastern parts of India this month. Earlier in the month, mild tremors were felt in Nashik on Tuesday 18th August at around 3 pm. According to the National Center for Seismology, the magnitude of the earthquake on the Richter scale was recorded at 2.2. This light intensity earthquake did not cause loss of life and property to the people.

Also on 8th of August, a 3.8 magnitude earthquake hit Gajapati and Ganjam districts of Odisha. The epicentre of the earthquake was located near Paribheta and Tandiguda areas of Ganjam district, which is near R.Udaigiri area as per the official post of the meteorological office. The tremors were felt in Patrapur in Ganjam district and Mohanna area of Gajapati district.
