Jamshedpur’s ‘Damini’ lost the battle of life in hospital, school to remain close until further notice.

Jamshedpur girl who committed suicide by pouring kerosene oil after being stripped off her clothes in the school, died in the hospital battling for life on Thursday night. She was a student of Shardamani Girls High School in Sakchi in Jamshedpur who was torchered by a teacher for cheating and was asked to take off her clothes infront of the class. She lost her life during treatment. After she died, the district administration constituted a medical board and got the post-mortem done of Damini’s (changed name) body at night. After the paperwork was done on Friday, Damini’s body was handed over to the relatives.

Damini’s body was brought to her house in Chhayanagar of Bhuiyadih located in Sitaramdera from where her body was taken for the last rites to Swarnarekha Burning Ghat. During the entire procedure, police personnel were deployed at the site.

DC Vijaya Jadhav reached Tata hospital on Thursday to console family after the tragic incident. The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration stands with the family members of the girl in this hour of grief and will try his best so family doesn’t face any problem ahead. Shardamani school management decided that the school will remain close until further notice which might affect the ongoing internals of class 9 and 10th students.
